Custom Power Supplies
Typical Gaming Machine Power Supply designs might include a customer-specified form-factor with multiple outputs for gaming systems such as a combination of:
- +5V
- +12V
- -12V
- +24V
- +36V
- +48V
In addition we have designed a range of ATX supplies in PS/2 format especially for the gaming and casino industry. These supplies provide all outputs for PC motherboards and peripherals up to P4 processor requirements but with the addition of gaming-specific outputs such as +24V for coin hoppers. Power outputs range from 200W to 350W.
Battery Back-up Solutions
If power is interrupted to a gaming machine the consequences can be serious for the operator and the client. If a game is in process it may be corrupted or aborted. If a financial transaction is in process it may be lost or result in incorrect payout. Normally the operator installs a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) external to the machine to protect against power outage disasters. But this solution is unsatisfactory in many ways including electrical losses (cost!), distortion of the power supply, reduced system reliability and physical space requirements.
The Magnum BI-UPS technology overcomes all these disadvantages by providing the battery back-up INTERNAL to the power supply. Our unique patented technology allows battery back-up within the system enclosure using the power supply that is already supplying the power under normal conditions. This technology is well-proven and in use in many other market sectors where ultimate reliability is paramount such as supermarket checkout terminals, industrial applications and telecommunications systems.
